RACQUETBALL COURT 1 CONVERSION
Thank you for your continued loyalty and support, it is very much appreciated. We would like to share some exciting updates coming soon to our Crescenta-Canada Family YMCA.
With the continued popularity of strength and resistance training in the fitness community over the past decade, our Association has decided to repurpose a number of spaces within our facility to accommodate this increasing need.
Research consistently highlights the importance of strength and resistance-based training for overall health. The benefits for all individuals include increased muscle mass, improved bone density, reduced risk of chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease, better functional ability, enhanced mental well-being, and a decreased risk of premature mortality, making it a crucial component of a balanced exercise routine for people of all ages, genders, and abilities.
To best serve all members, our leadership team has decided to convert one of the two remaining racquetball courts to offer an additional strength room, adding 800 square feet to our overall strength floor. The decision for this conversion was based on the average member usage within these spaces during our operating hours. The goal is to better accommodate all members who are currently maxing out the capacity of our current strength rooms multiple times throughout the day. These conversions will allow us to open up space and provide much-needed upgrades to our current strength equipment.

Racquetball Court 2 will remain available for your regular use, with the reservation-based system through our YMCA of the Foothills mobile app.
If you have any questions, or would like more information, please direct them to our Crescenta Cañada YMCA Branch Director, Lori Durbin.
