Before you read the body of my monthly newsletter, I wanted to share something that has been on my heart for the last couple of weeks. I am constantly reminded of how fortunate we are to live in a community and country that is safe and allows us to reach our full potential.
Sadly, that is not the case worldwide, especially for our family and loved ones in Artsakh during the latest military aggression in the region from Azerbaijan. Our hearts are collectively broken as we see photos and news from the region where families must survive through the daily reality of war. In times like these, I am emboldened by our Y mission and work to help enrich and serve the lives of others – whether here in the foothills or abroad. I ask to keep those of the Armenian Diaspora living here in the foothills and the brave souls living through this senseless violence in Artsakh and Armenia at the top of our minds and deep in our hearts.
Fall is officially here, and I know our family squeezed every drop out of summer as we could. For Labor Day Weekend, we camped in one of our favorite spots on the Central Coast – Jalama Beach Campground in Santa Barbara County, which helped to “fill up” our wellness cup. I hope you got a chance to enjoy an activity, trip, or experience that highlighted National Selfcare Awareness Month.
