MAY 2024

Hello and welcome to the first day in the month of May!

Did you know that the name May is the modern-day English adaption of the Latin word Maius, which has origins going back to the time of the ancient Greeks? They named the month of May (or Maius) after the Greek goddess of growth. With that in mind, the Y is always here to help support your growth.

May is a meaningful reminder that healthy living and wellness extend beyond fitness activities. It's also National Mental Health Awareness Month. The Y’s pathways to well-being have always been holistic, aiming to improve lives spiritually, mentally, physically, and socially. If you're struggling to find balance in these areas, remember that the Y sees you, hears you, and is here to support you. Our Chaplain Services Program, led by onsite Chaplain Cameron Rose, is available for those who need additional support at crose@ymcafoothills.org

A few opportunities that we provide to better your overall wellness include Caregivers Night Out, Hearts for Siblings, our Nutritional Program, Live-Y, Doc Talks, Parents Night Out, Crochet Night, and more. Ask a membership staff about our many monthly happenings.

As we near the end of our 2024 Annual Support Campaign, we're thrilled to share that it's been a resounding success, thanks to the unwavering support of our Y community. Together, we've successfully raised our $100,000 fundraising goal! This campaign has been a platform for sharing inspiring stories, such as that of our Volunteer Basketball Coach and Parent, Isa Hall. Their dedication and your support are what make our Y thrive.

I wish you and your family a wonderful start to May, and as always, we thank you for your continuing support of our Y.

Onward and Upward!
