Hello, YMCA of the Foothills Family!
I hope you all enjoyed a restful and meaningful Memorial Day Weekend. Our Y is forever indebted to those brave souls who gave their lives for this country, and we are mindful of their ultimate sacrifice to uphold the ideals of our nation. This past weekend, our Y held its 49th Annual Fiesta Days Run in partnership with USC Verdugo Hills Hospital and the City of La Cañada Flintridge. Our new race route along Foothill Blvd was enjoyed by over 500 participants, both human and canine! The Iuculano Family had a blast running in the 1-mile Family Fun Run, as it was great to see so many of our friends, board members, and supporters of the Y on the course.
As we wrap up the final days of spring and move into the summer season, the Y is by your side in pursuit of healthy living. Over my 28 years with the YMCA movement, I have had the privilege to see firsthand the joy and wonder that summertime brings for youth, teens, and families of all constitutions. I am also reminded of the purpose of this organization, which is to serve ALL and enrich the quality of their lives spiritually, mentally, physically, and socially. Guided by our Mission Statement, we aspire daily to serve everyone through inclusive program design and delivery, making our buildings welcoming and accessible to all and ensuring that everyone we encounter knows they matter.
This summer and every day of the year, we strive to help build positive lifelong memories for all Y members, program participants, and volunteers by helping people feel seen, validated, respected and included.
I wish you all a great summer season, which allows you to rest and recharge.
Onward and Upward!
